Ben Bergquam, host of Law and Border on Real America’s Voice, is preparing to expand his work beyond television as he launches a national speaking tour and prepares to release a new book chronicling his years reporting on the border crisis. Known for his confrontational style and on-the-ground reporting from some of the most dangerous migration routes in the world, Bergquam told supporters at a recent event that his work is driven by faith, personal redemption, and what he believes is a fight for the future of the United States.
Watch:
A Personal Turning Point
Bergquam opened his remarks at a recent California Republican event, with a deeply personal story about the moment he says changed the direction of his life.
He described battling addiction and reaching a point where he feared he might end up “in prison or dead.”
“I heard the Lord tell me this,” Bergquam said. “You kept praying that she wouldn’t know, when she’s the only one that needed to. Your chains are broken, and you’re set free.”
That moment, he explained, came after he confessed his struggles to his wife a turning point that ultimately reshaped his life and career.
“Honor your wives,” he told the audience. “That is the most important covenant you will make.”
The experience, Bergquam said, set him on a path that would eventually lead him into activism, journalism, and national media.
From Activism to Journalism
Bergquam said his early activism began in California during confrontations with far-left protesters and political leaders.
“This path started confronting Antifa, confronting politicians like Kevin De León and Gavin Newsom and all of these scumbags that have destroyed the state,” he said.
But he also directed criticism at leaders within his own political party.
“It wasn’t just the Democrats,” Bergquam said. “The biggest problem with California has been pathetic Republicans who sold this state out.”
Those early experiences eventually evolved into a form of journalism that Bergquam describes as direct, unfiltered reporting from the field.
“My biggest competitive advantage is authenticity,” he said. “I tell you what I think and say it the way I see it.”
Reporting From the Darien Gap
Bergquam is best known for his reporting on migration routes leading to the United States, particularly the dangerous jungle corridor known as the Darien Gap between Colombia and Panama.
According to Bergquam, his reporting team made multiple trips through the region documenting the journey migrants take before reaching the U.S. southern border.
“That is what open-borders compassion looks like,” Bergquam said, describing scenes he witnessed of migrants being robbed, assaulted, and exploited along the trail.
His footage from the region has been featured on Law and Border, the investigative series he hosts on Real America’s Voice.
The show follows law enforcement operations, migration routes, and cartel activity connected to the border crisis.
The Immigration Debate
Bergquam’s reporting frequently focuses on the intersection of immigration policy, organized crime, and national politics.
At the event, he argued that legal immigrants are often among the strongest supporters of border enforcement.
“My wife is a legal immigrant,” Bergquam said. “She came here the right way, and the proudest day of her life was becoming an American citizen.”
He contrasted that experience with what he described as a breakdown in immigration enforcement during recent years.
“If you are here illegally and want to come back, come through the front door,” he said. “Don’t climb in our back window.”
The Political Stakes
Bergquam also framed the immigration issue as part of a larger political struggle over the direction of the country.
“If we give this country back to the Democrats again,” he said, “I don’t think we recover as a nation.”
The journalist emphasized the importance of congressional elections, arguing that control of the House and Senate will determine whether current border policies remain in place.
“The executive orders stop the bleeding,” he said. “But the real fight is keeping Congress.”
Expanding His Platform
As Bergquam continues reporting for Law and Border, he is also preparing to expand his reach beyond television.
He confirmed that a new book is currently in development that will detail his experiences covering the border crisis, cartel operations, and immigration politics.
In addition, Bergquam plans to launch a national speaking tour in the coming months, visiting communities, college campuses, and grassroots organizations across the country.
The tour will focus on border security, media coverage of immigration issues, and what Bergquam calls the need for “authentic journalism.”
“There was a vacuum for authentic journalism,” he said. “No one was doing it. No one would say it. So we said, why not us?”
Law and Border Continues
Bergquam encouraged supporters to follow his work through Law and Border, now entering its sixth season on Real America’s Voice.
The series features on-the-ground reporting from immigration hotspots, law enforcement operations, and international migration routes.
Viewers can watch past episodes through the network’s streaming platform.
As Bergquam prepares for his upcoming book and speaking tour, he said his mission remains the same as when he first began reporting from the front lines of the immigration debate.
“We’re in a fight to the death,” he told the audience. “And we have to stop this.”
