Independent DC Street Reporter Slams U.S. Government’s Handling of Border Security Following Shocking Child Abuse Case

An independent correspondent known as DC Realtime News, who covers police, fire, and EMS news in the National Capital Region, has voiced strong criticism of the U.S. government’s border security and public safety measures following a disturbing crime in Fairfax County, Virginia.

The reporter, who frequently drives himself to crime scenes to cover breaking news, took to social media to express outrage over what he described as a “National Security and Public Safety failure.”

His post, referring to a crime story reported by Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, highlighted the arrest of Franklin Arquimedes Viera-Guevara, a Salvadoran illegal alien previously deported in 2019. Viera-Guevara was charged with child abuse and other related crimes after two young boys, aged 7 and 9, were found chained at their ankles in their mother’s home. The suspect, who had unlawfully re-entered the U.S. as a “gotaway,” was apprehended in Fairfax County and now faces multiple charges including child endangerment and abduction.

The independent reporter’s frustration reflects growing concern among citizens over the failure of the current administration to adequately secure the border. “Too many incidents are taking place from individuals that absolutely don’t belong in this country,” he posted. “And the sad part is they just [come and go] as they damn well please.” His post encapsulates the broader frustration shared by many Americans who feel that immigration enforcement has become too lax, resulting in dangerous criminals re-entering the country.

The crime in question has reignited the debate over the U.S. government’s inability to track and prevent the re-entry of deported individuals. In its statement, ICE confirmed that Viera-Guevara had re-entered the country undetected at an unknown time and location after being deported for unlawful entry in 2019.

As these stories continue to unfold, the independent correspondent’s candid remarks echo the sentiments of those living in affected communities, demanding stronger border security measures and more effective public safety policies to prevent such tragedies from recurring.
