Surge in Crime at Housing Facilities for Illegals: FOIA Investigations Reveal Alarming Trends in Chicago and Massachusetts

As independent investigations by Terry Newsome and Ben Bergquam uncover a troubling rise in crime rates at facilities housing illegal immigrants, mainstream media is beginning to notice similar patterns in other sanctuary areas.

Of utmost concern is that with the Democrats in charge, we do not know who is coming over the border. Ben Bregquam explains from California, where groups of illegals told him they were headed to Santurary towns around the country:

Chicago’s Historic Standard Club Transformed into Migrant Shelter

The Standard Club, a historic Chicago institution founded in 1869, now houses illegal immigrants following its sale in February 2022. The club, once a prestigious venue, has seen a significant increase in criminal activity since its new role. Between June 2023 and May 2024, the Chicago Police Department responded to 706 serious incidents at the facility. These incidents include vehicle-related crimes, possession of fraudulent IDs, and child pornography.

Recent FOIA requests by Terry Newsome, as highlighted by Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit, have revealed a disturbing pattern of crime at the Standard Club. Similar issues have been reported at another facility recently acquired by the same investor. Concerns are rising about illegal immigrants obtaining motor vehicle use and fraudulent IDs, which is fueling fears about election integrity and public safety.

Massachusetts’ Emergency Assistance Shelter Program Faces Criticism

In Massachusetts, the Emergency Assistance (EA) family shelter program has logged over 300 serious incidents this year, according to the Boston Herald. The EA program, which serves both migrants and local families, has faced criticism from Jessica Vaughan of the Center for Immigration Studies. Vaughan described the high number of incidents as “very disturbing” and criticized the state for failing to provide a safe environment despite substantial taxpayer funding.

While Massachusetts is not a sanctuary state, it has several sanctuary cities, including Boston, Cambridge, and Chelsea. These cities vary in their cooperation with federal immigration laws, with some limiting information sharing and detainer compliance. Ragini Shah, a Suffolk law professor, explains that while some cities do not honor federal detainers, they are not legally mandated to do so.

The Herald reported that the EA program had previously banned over 20 individuals for “inappropriate actions,” redirecting them to other shelters. Serious incidents at these facilities include misconduct, threats, and actual harm involving both residents and staff.

A spokesperson for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities emphasized that the safety of families is a top priority and noted that serious incidents could also involve non-residents or be due to factors like natural disasters or health issues.

Governor’s Response and Local Concerns

Governor Maura Healey has announced new restrictions to prioritize Massachusetts families for services amidst the rising number of illegal immigrants overwhelming the state’s shelter system. She is coordinating with federal agencies and NGOs to manage the influx, which has sparked calls for increased federal funding and expedited work permits for immigrants. However, this has angered some local residents concerned about increased job competition.

Broader Implications and Criticisms

The troubling trends observed in both Chicago and Massachusetts contribute to ongoing debates about immigration policies. Critics argue that mass immigration policies, such as those allowing asylum seekers and refugees to obtain driver’s licenses and vote, undermine national security and election integrity. They also express concerns about the expansion of the welfare state and government dependency. Proponents, however, view these measures as necessary humanitarian efforts.

As these issues continue to unfold, the impact of immigration policies on crime rates and public safety remains a contentious and critical topic of discussion.

As Bergquam explains they know how to game the system, and the Democrats are assisting them. It is not a mystery where these illegals are coming from.
