Tom Homan Unveils Immigration Crackdown Plan, Tells Illegals to “Go Home”, Mass Deportations and Workplace Raids

Incoming border czar Tom Homan, under the Trump administration, has announced an aggressive strategy to tackle undocumented immigration. His plan includes mass deportations, reviving workplace enforcement raids, and shutting down dangerous migration routes like the Darien Gap.

Homan, speaking to NBC News recently, emphasized that these measures aim to safeguard national security and combat human trafficking, framing the approach as both a humanitarian and enforcement priority.

Shutting Down the Darien Gap: A Bold Move
Homan revealed a priority initiative to shut down the Darien Gap, a perilous jungle corridor in Panama used by hundreds of thousands of migrants annually.

“Shutting down the Darien Gap is going to protect our national security. It’s going to save thousands of lives,” Homan stated.

Panama has already reported a 42% reduction in crossings through the region, but Homan stressed the need for U.S.-led efforts to completely close the route in collaboration with foreign governments.

Homan is not messing around:

Mass Deportations and Workplace Raids
At the core of the plan are mass deportations and the revival of workplace enforcement raids, suspended under the Biden administration. Homan explained the raids are critical for uncovering forced labor operations often linked to criminal cartels.

“It’s the No. 1 place we find victims of forced labor,” Homan said, highlighting the dual focus on combating trafficking and deterring undocumented workers.

Critics argue that such raids conflate trafficking victims with undocumented workers, but Homan maintains their necessity for dismantling exploitation networks.

Collateral Arrests: A Controversial Tactic
Homan confirmed that collateral arrests, where illegals not initially targeted are detained during operations, will remain a significant part of the strategy.

While funding for the expansive deportation measures remains unclear, Homan suggested $86 billion would be a “great start” to enhance enforcement infrastructure.

ICE’s 287(g) Program Expansion
The administration plans to broaden the 287(g) program, which allows local law enforcement to assist in immigration enforcement. Weekly press briefings and a public hotline for reporting suspected illegals involved in criminal activities will further bolster transparency and public involvement.

Criticism and Advocacy Concerns
Advocacy groups warn that the measures may harm vulnerable populations. Heidi Altman of the National Immigration Law Center criticized the plan:

“Homan is skilled at using public safety rhetoric to justify vicious tactics that tear families apart.”

Shelter director Jose Maria Garcia added that reducing legal pathways to asylum could push migrants into more dangerous situations.

Homan’s Vision: Responding to Voter Demand
Homan insists the immigration crackdown responds directly to voter priorities:

“This is the No. 1 issue. It’s not so much about illegal immigration. It’s about national security.”

A Message to Illegals: “Go Home”
As the administration prepares to implement these measures, Homan’s message to illegals is clear:

“Go home.”

This stark warning underscores the administration’s commitment to a hardline stance on immigration, promising significant shifts in U.S. border and workplace policies.
