President-elect Donald Trump reportedly plans to unleash a wave of around 100 executive orders upon taking office on January 20. The goal: to swiftly reverse Biden-era policies and implement his agenda.
According to multiple reports, Trump shared his plans during a meeting with Senate Republicans earlier this week. The Associated Press, Axios, and Fox News confirmed that the orders would target key issues like border security, energy independence, and immigration reforms.
Senator Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., described the president-elect’s approach during a “Fox & Friends” appearance. “He threw that out—100—there could be like 100 EOs, yeah. I believe him,” Mullin said. Senator Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., echoed this sentiment, noting that Trump is serious about the number of planned executive orders.
Stephen Miller, a close advisor and policy architect in Trump’s administration, reportedly detailed plans for immediate action, particularly on immigration and border control. GOP lawmakers are ready to support Trump’s agenda through legislation alongside the executive orders.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., have expressed commitment to advancing Trump’s priorities swiftly. Trump has also called on Congress to present “one powerful bill” addressing key issues for his immediate signature.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump criticized President Joe Biden for complicating the transition. “Fear not, these ‘Orders’ will all be terminated shortly, and we will become a Nation of Common Sense and Strength. MAGA!!!” Trump declared.
While some praise Trump’s decisive approach, critics argue that this use of executive power bypasses legislative debate. Nonetheless, Trump’s return to the Oval Office signals a sharp pivot from Biden-era policies, with executive orders serving as the first salvo in his renewed presidency.
