Higgens Untamed on Mayorkas: ‘Unaccompanied Minors’ are Young Adults Turned Loose at 18 Years old

Rep. Clay Higgins (R-AL), a member of Homeland Security and Oversight committees, questioned the Director of Refugee Resettlement recently about what happens when ‘unaccompanied minors” turn 18. Higgens said that they are then given an amnesty at the expense of the American people. “These are young adults. They are 16, 17-year-olds who turn 18 and are then turned into the fabric of our country, and they are gone, ” Higgens said to the Director.

“Democrats insinuate that “unaccompanied children” who illegally enter America are lost, frightened little kids. That’s rarely the case. They need to hear the truth,” Higgens, chairman of the border Subcommittee, said in his comments that day.

Robin Dunn Marcos, director (ORR) at the Health & Human Services Department, testified on the treatment of unaccompanied children at the U.S.-Mexico border at a House Oversight subcommittee hearing. Members asked questions about the most common circumstances unaccompanied children face and the vetting process for sponsors of the children.

Higgens talked about the criminal charges that surround the migrants and asked what happens in those situations. The Director basically said that criminal activity was the responsibility of law enforcement.

So- there is more for law enforcement to deal with.

Watch:

Higgens has been very bold on border issues. Just a few days ago, Higgins slammed Democrat Mayorkas in a shocking smash down over the lies that they have operations control of the Southern border, telling him that he expects him to resign or be impeached:

According to an Oversight press release, Higgens is a great choice for this chairmanship, and he plans to continue to press Mayorkas to resign:

Higgens, a returning member of the Homeland Security Committee, has been named Chairman of the Subcommittee on Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement.

The Subcommittee is responsible for all aspects of security operations along land, air, and maritime borders. Its jurisdiction includes three of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) seven operational components: U.S. Customs & Border Protection, Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), and U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services. The Subcommittee will be the driving force in the debate on how to best address this country’s lack of border security and provide our frontline defenders with the necessary tools to carry out their mission of protecting this great nation.

Congressman Higgins has been a leading voice for enhanced border security and efforts to combat illegal immigration. He has personally scouted the entire border and spoken with border agents in each command sector. He continues to sponsor and co-sponsor various border security legislation to ensure this nation’s safety.

Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:

“America faces serious threat. This administration has lost operational control of our southern border, the cartels quickly outmaneuvered Mayorkas, millions of illegals have crossed into our country, fentanyl is flooding across our border, violent crime has spread into every community, we lose billions every year because of a weak cybersecurity infrastructure, and for two years the Biden DHS policies have escaped accountability due to a lack of oversight from the previous Democrat-led House. Under the Republican majority, we will work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the United States. I look forward to working with Chairman Green and my Republican colleagues. Drug traffickers and criminals who enslave vulnerable human beings celebrated when Biden was inaugurated, but the party’s over for the cartels. Biden and Mayorkas will be held accountable for their treasonous open border policies.”

Chairman Green issued the following statement:

“The record breaking crisis at our Southwest border is one of the greatest threats to our homeland security today. An unprecedented amount of synthetic drugs, like fentanyl, are streaming across our border killing Americans as Border Patrol is encountering never before seen numbers of people on the terrorist watchlist between ports of entry. It will be our Committee’s responsibility to put forth a strong Republican solution to this crisis. Rep. Higgins is a tenacious and ardent leader with valuable law enforcement experience vital to our efforts to secure the homeland. I am proud to have Rep. Higgins at the helm of the subcommittee that will help lead this effort.”
