As Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris plans her first visit to Arizona’s border, Ben Bergquam wasted no time expressing his outrage over the timing and intent of the visit. “Kamala to visit the border for the first time since she’s been in the White House! Is she going to get her MVP award from the cartels?” Bergquam sarcastically questioned, referencing the rampant cartel activity that has been a key issue in border security debates.
Bergquam Calls Out Harris’ Border Record
Bergquam’s frustration stems from what he sees as Harris’ failure to address the border crisis during her time as Vice President. The Arizona visit, particularly to the area near Douglas—infamously known as the “land of cartel ladders”—struck him as a hollow gesture.
“So Kamala Harris is supposed to be going to the border tomorrow…we’ve got the ladder crews running down there at will, cartels making billions of dollars. This is like Kamala Harris playing for team cartel for four years, now all of a sudden showing up saying she wants to play for Team America,” Bergquam said, his voice tinged with frustration. “You’ve allowed our country to be invaded…15 million illegals, probably more. And now, two months before the election, they’re pretending like they’re going to fix things.”
Bergquam, like many border security advocates, emphasized the danger posed by the uncontrolled flow of drugs, including fentanyl, and human trafficking that he claims have been facilitated by the Biden-Harris administration’s immigration policies. He blamed Harris and the administration for the influx of drugs and illegal immigrants, linking them to rising crime, overdose deaths, and human trafficking in the U.S.
“You did that, Kamala,” Bergquam charged. “And now you’re going to go down there, a month before the election, and act like you care?”
Harris Under Fire from Trump and Border Advocates
Bergquam’s frustration echoed sentiments shared by former President Donald Trump, who also criticized Harris’ border visit, mocking her efforts to fix a crisis she had largely ignored.
“Why didn’t she fix it almost four years ago?” Trump questioned during a recent press conference. “She’s got no plans, got no talent, got no ability to do it.”
Harris, who visited the border as Vice President in 2021, has been under constant scrutiny from Republicans and border security advocates for what they see as her mishandling of the illegal immigration crisis. Despite efforts to address the “root causes” , the administration’s approach has faced backlash, particularly after halting Trump-era policies like “Remain in Mexico” and construction of the border wall.
Bergquam doubled down on these critiques, accusing Harris of hypocrisy for now appearing to align with policies she once opposed. He suggested that her sudden interest in the border was purely political, aimed at saving face ahead of the upcoming election. “The only thing I can think she’s actually doing down there is just picking up her commission check from the cartels—Cartel Employee of the Year, Kamala Harris.”

Bergquam concluded his video by calling on MAGA supporters to show up in full force during Harris’ visit. He encouraged them to fly their Trump flags and wear their MAGA gear, signaling that Harris’ visit would be met with resistance from conservative Arizonans.
“Fly your Trump gear high and let her know what you think of her,” Bergquam urged. “When we win, it’s a media civil war… Kamala Harris and her minions, BLM, Antifa, and millions of illegal aliens are going to be burning down our country. We need to empower law enforcement and our military to deal with it.”
Bergquam’s fiery rhetoric reflects the deep frustration among border security advocates, who see Harris’ visit as too little, too late. The border crisis has become a flashpoint in the 2024 election, with both sides jockeying to address the complex issue.
