Harvard/Harris Poll: President Trump Holds 40-Point Lead in GOP Primary

Ron DeSantis is getting trashed on multiple fronts this week as new polling from Harvard shows President Donald J. Trump has a shocking 40 point lead in a Republican Primary for 2024, and a Turning Point USA poll shows that DeSantis didn’t even make the cut for the second most popular candidate.

And then back at home in Florida, DeSantis’s constituents are restless and frustrated with him over his obsession with running for President instead of doing his job to protect Floridians as he was elected to do.

More about the shocking Harvard poll that shows that huge lead:

This survey was conducted online within the United States from July 19-20, 2023 among 2,068 registered voters by The Harris Poll and HarrisX. Results were weighted for age within gender, region, race/ethnicity, marital status, household size, income, employment, education, political party, and political ideology where necessary to align them with their actual proportions in the population. Propensity score weighting was also used to adjust for respondents’ propensity to be online.

The poll was supervised by pollsters:
Mark Penn (Chairman, The Harris Poll)
Dritan Nesho (CEO, HarrisX)
Stephen Ansolabehere (Professor and CAPS Director Emeritus, Harvard University)

Simon Ateba posted about the same poll. reporting, “YOUR REACTION – HOW WOULD THEY STOP TRUMP? If you missed this Friday, Harvard-Harris released their latest poll showing if the @GOP primary were held now,@realDonaldTrump would win with 52 percent of the votes and go on to beat @JoeBiden in the general election with a margin of 45 to 40 percent. A bit disturbing for @RonDeSantis, he would get only 12 percent of the votes in the primary, 40 points behind Trump, and @VivekGRamaswamy would secure 10 percent of the votes. If@KamalaHarris were the Democratic candidate, Trump would beat her 47-38% .
