Sydney Suffers Another Stabbing Attack, Crowd Wants a Lynching of Suspect

Clashes erupted outside a church in western Sydney after four people, including a Bishop, were stabbed during a Monday evening service. The incident occurred at Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley, with a livestream capturing the attack on the preacher. The assailant, dressed in black, stabbed the Bishop multiple times before being subdued by worshippers.

Riot squad officers managed the chaotic scene as emergency responders treated the victims, including a police officer. Liverpool Hospital went into lockdown as the injured received treatment. The community, officials, and Premier Chris Minns urged calm amidst the tense situation.

Police faced hostility from a large crowd, resulting in the deployment of capsicum spray and reports of attacks on officers and paramedics. The incident adds to Sydney’s recent spate of violence, following a mass stabbing at Bondi Junction Westfield just days earlier.
