In Eagle Pass, Texas, on Wednesday, Ben Bergquam of Real America’s Voice had a chance to make history by holding members of the US House accountable for the national security of the United States and for the American people.
“I was the first to ask a question, and I asked them for a show of hands-on who would shut down the government until the border is closed,” Bergquam told Steve Bannon on the War Room program.
Social media noticed too:
Bergquam joined Bannon on Wednesday to discuss the gathering of House members on the border. The two discussed the catastrophic border security policies of the Biden administration and the looming government shutdown, as each expressed skepticism about HR to pass and implement a government shutdown and the much-needed border security.Â
“I asked the question directly, I said to the group. Please do me a favor. Can I get a show of hands who was willing to shut down the government until we shut down the border and I could tell that question was a really uncomfortable question. They changed the direction. They changed the topic. They said we’re not there to talk about that yet,” Bergquam told Bannon.
So, not everyone meeting at the Southern border was excited by his line of questioning. However, Bergquam, host of Law and Border, got people on the record about how much they really wanted to save our Republic.
US Rep. Mark Green, who is the chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, vowed to impeach DHS Secretary Mayorkas for “putting Americans dead” due to border policies.
Bergquam urged people to call their representatives and demand action on the border, reminding them there are only about two weeks left before the deadline to keep the government open.
Bergquam told Bannon that the mood was solemn among the people at the meeting who wanted bolder border security, relating a story that one rep told him they wouldn’t have the needed votes to do what they wanted.
“The problem is and I think he is right. I spoke to one Congressman who said, that he thinks we’re going to see a budget where we see more Democrats vote. More Democrats vote for the budget than Republicans. And that’s sad for America, and sadly, unless you can get some of these Rhino Republicans to stand with the rest of the Republicans, I think he may be right, and that’s the death of our country. And, you know, it ultimately comes back to 2025. The election of 2024 and 2025. And it really comes down to know that- okay Rhino Republicans that aren’t willing to stand up for this country,” Bergquam added.

Speaker Mike Johnson talked about the HR 2 Bill and his general feeling about the bill that some people are floating as a fix for the border:
“When President Trump entered the Oval Office, he put in the remain-in-Mexico policy and ended the catch-and-release policy. He did the fundamental common sense things that stemmed the flow; it was down to a tiny fraction of what it is now.
We had 302,000 encounters at the border in December alone. It’s the highest number in history, and it’s going to continue because they’re showing no no no inclination at all to change it. They have rolled out the welcome mat. By the way, this is costing American taxpayers billions and billions of dollars to house and, feed and, educate, and give health care to all these illegals. If you’re from one of these poor countries, why would you not travel with you?
Why would you not submit your children to that dangerous journey? We don’t know what’s happening to them on the way. Yes, it’s a humanitarian crisis. We walk through the centers today, and it would make the average American citizen cry to see what’s happening here, and it must stop right there. This is why some people ask, why not pass the $14 billion supplemental bill that President Biden has put before you to at least try to help with some of these issues that won’t solve.”
Green tweeted that Maorkas was responsible for the crisis:
Fox News reported Wednesday after the border showdown:
A House committee has set the date for its first impeachment hearing into Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, escalating its push against the Cabinet official.
The committee said the Homeland Security Committee, led by Chairman Mark Green, R-Tenn., will hold its first impeachment hearing into Mayorkas on Jan. 10.
Green told Fox News that for “almost three years, the American people have demanded an end to the unprecedented crisis at the Southwest border, and they have also rightly called for Congress to hold accountable those responsible.”
